The town church of Waldbröl is a Protestant church in the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Waldbröl.
The first documented mention of the town church of Waldbröl is dated to March 31, 1131. With the introduction of the Reformation by the Counts of Sayn-Wittgenstein in 1563, Waldbröl became Protestant. As early as 1605, due to a change of regents, Waldbröl became Catholic again. The Protestant congregation resisted, and the attempt to re-Catholicize failed in 1610. The next attempt to re-Catholicize Waldbröl occurred in 1631. The congregation engaged in passive resistance and secretly hired a Protestant pastor in 1646. The Catholic clergyman was compensated with 80 thalers and left the parish the same year. The religious comparison of April 26, 1672, between the Protestant Elector of Brandenburg and the Catholic Duke of Pfalz-Neuburg led to the legal recognition as a Protestant-Lutheran congregation.
