Theres-Neumann-Museum

Description

The Theres-Neumann-Museum is located in the "Schafferhof" information and meeting center.

The Theres-Neumann-Museum showcases around 300 exhibits and 17 media stations over more than 500 square meters in eight rooms.
They commemorate the life and work of "Resl von Konnersreuth".
Since 1926 - when her mystical phenomena became known - until her death in 1962, Theres Neumann found herself in a tension between public hostility and deep veneration. Theres Neumann continues to move, touch, and polarize people to this day. Since 1926, there has been an overwhelming flood of publications from various fields, and the list of literature continues to grow steadily.
With a museum orientation that consciously focuses on primary sources, the excessive pressure of having to recreate everything that has ever been written and said about Theres Neumann has been countered.
At the center of the exhibition is the person and multifaceted life of Theres Neumann. Additionally, people whose paths have crossed with Theres Neumann are presented: regardless of whether these people were friendly or hostile towards her.
Each exhibition room is named after a specific WAY. The first room, titled "The Little Way," is dedicated to the first phase of Theres Neumann's life, introducing her family and influential personalities. In the second room, titled "Paths to the Savior," all the mystical phenomena that occurred with Theres Neumann are addressed. The third way provides information about the mass visits in Konnersreuth. The fourth room tells the stories of selected life paths of people who found their way to conversion through their encounter with Theres Neumann and her support. Room 5, titled "The Straight Way," is dedicated to the friends of Theres Neumann in the Eichstätt circle of friends, who encouraged her in various ways to take active resistance. Room 6 reflects on Theres Neumann's private life from 1926 to 1962. The local history of Konnersreuth, with the formative Schafferhof as the seat of the Theres-Neumann-Museum, is presented in Room 7. Finally, the eighth exhibition room, "The Last Way - Afterlife and Veneration," is dedicated to the time after Theres Neumann's death in 1962.
