Kerkrade is a city with a long history, which you can see in the medieval Rolduc Abbey. Behind this monumental building you will find a beautiful hillside forest with beautiful ponds, where ducks swim and anemones give the forest color. Further on you walk through the beautiful area of the Wormdal, where the kingfishers and beavers have their residence on the meandering border river. Also take a look at the nine hundred year old Baalsbruggermolen, the only abbey mill in the Netherlands.
