Are you looking for a challenging hike near our flower walk through the daffodil valleys from Perlenbach to Krockesbach or would you like to hike in our Hohes Venn, but the beautiful trails are closed to protect the breeding season of the capercaillie? Then maybe the next tough walk can offer a solution.
From the tranquil Röhren, our beautiful hiking trail starts, leading you through the rugged valley of the Perlenbach and the Roer/Rur, towards the historic Monschau. Through the charming village of Höfen, you hike through the hilly landscape and enjoy the soothing nature.
You pass winding rivers and wooded hills as you slowly but surely approach the ancient town of Monschau. Along the way, you have many opportunities to relax and enjoy the panoramic view of Engelsley or Teufelsley.
Upon arriving in Monschau, you will be greeted by a beautiful old town full of picturesque half-timbered houses. First, admire the town from the Antonius Chapel and various viewpoints, wander through the charming alleys, discover local crafts, and try delicious regional dishes.
This marked hike offers a wonderful mix of nature and culture; and is the perfect way to experience the beauty of the Eifel near the Belgian border (4 km).

Rohren, a village in the German municipality of Monschau, known for its extensive forest areas with cross-country ski trails and its Lourdes Chapel
Hohes Venn-Eifel Nature Park, a German-Belgian nature reserve of 2700 km², better known in Belgium as the Hohe Venn.
Some tributaries of the Roer/Rur such as Kluckbach, Velingensief, Klosbach, and the Perlenbach
Höfen is a district of Monschau. In winter, you will find cross-country ski trails (during snowfall) and the landscape nativity scene with singing shepherds
Perlenbach Dam, which has been used since 1956 to collect 800,000 m³ of drinking water.
Viewpoints Engelsley and Teufelsey above the hamlet of Dreisteigen
From Monschau, there are numerous viewpoints, including those from the Antonius Chapel and the church "Op Der Plätt"
