Circular hike through Jamno Forest

The Primeval Forest, a natural, primeval pond, spring and forest area, is located in the Wiesen- und Teichgebiet Eulo-Jamno landscape protection area in the Groß Jamno district of the city of Forst (Lausitz).In the center of Groß Jamno village, follow Urwaldstraße to the small parking lot of the country inn Urwald. The name Urwald dates back to the former owner Heinrich Kloß, who developed the area into a nature park starting in 1904, preserving the original character of the landscape. The Urwald quickly became a popular destination. The circular path starts at the parking lot. The route is marked with a green dot. The entire circular path is 2 km long.Through a section bordered by forest and a forest meadow, you reach the spring and continue to the well, which once supplied Groß Jamno with water through wooden pipes. Between the ponds, near the country inn, you return to the starting point. In some sections, the path of the nature trail coincides with that of the circular walk.
