Short description

From east to west through the Dübener Heide Nature Park. The border stream with its mills, viewpoints, and ridges, beech forests, and opencast mining pits. The idylls and former wounds of the region are tangible.

Description

The Heidekammweg crosses the Dübener Heide from east to west. After starting in Dommitzsch, we follow the border stream via Dahlenberg to Hachemühle. 4 mill sites are passed. In Dahlenberg, artworks by the artist Kubas such as the neighboring beer fountain can be seen. From Hachemühle onwards, we gain height towards Moschwig / Schöne Aussicht. The Kaiser Wilhelmturm on the Schöne Aussicht offers a beautiful panoramic view of the heath.
For those traveling for several days, there is the option to stay in the nearby Bad Schmiedeberg.
From Schöne Aussicht, it is worth taking a small detour via Jungfern- and Zigeunergrab to the Dreiländereck instead of taking the direct route.
Typical heath forest accompanies us from now on until the highest point of the Dübener Heide, the Hohen Gieck with 193.4 m. Further towards Schköna, a beautiful view of this heath village awaits us at the edge of the forest. A different scene in Gröbern. Opencast mining reclamation has created new nature here. A boulder garden displays various stones found during mining from different eras. The destination Burgkemnitz offers the Health Spring for sore feet. The castle park, the church, and the arboretum are worth seeing.

After starting at Dommitzscher Markt, we follow Trossiner Straße to the inn Stadt Potsdam. Turn right there into Commende Str.. At the edge of the village, turn left at the information board into Heideweg. Now straight ahead until the end of the orchard, then turn right and follow the path to the road Trossin - Dahlenberg. Turn right again, follow the road, past the livestock facility to Pleckmühle. At the SOS telephone, turn left, along the pond and over the stream, then turn right again, into Dahlenberg. In Dahlenberg, continue straight until the turnoff to the reservoir parking lot, which is easy to find through the rest area and the information board. Turn right towards the reservoir, and left next to the dam through the grounds of the bath along the lake to the settlement Hachemühle. In Hachemühle, first straight ahead, then left up to the mailbox system. There, turn right again, follow the road, past the hotel straight ahead to the edge of the village. From there, diagonally right, follow the path, a little along the stream, to the youth camp. Also there, always straight ahead into Moschwig. In Moschwig, take the 1st road on the right, then left over the railway, turn left again at the Main Street, follow left to the parking lot just before the railway. Turn right there and initially straight ahead, following the sign Schöne Aussicht. At Schöne Aussicht, follow the access road to the street Söllichau - Schmiedeberg, cross this street and immediately turn left onto the path to the parking lot Wurzelberg. Turn right there and follow the signs to the Dreiländereck. At the rest area Dreiländereck, take the 1st road on the right (well marked) and always straight ahead until the end of the path, turn left there and at the next intersection turn right, the signposts are somewhat hidden, then past the hunting pond until you reach Reichsapfelweg. The Reichsapfelweg is indicated by a small bench on the right and a signpost. Turn left onto Reichapfelweg, cross over the Reinharzer Weg, many signposts at this intersection, continue straight. The Heidekammweg now runs parallel to the Heide Biber Tour until the turnoff to Köhlerei. At the turnoff to Köhlerei, continue straight ahead across the B2 to Hohen Gieck. Also there, continue straight ahead, cross the two Luther paths to a signpost for Bauerhaus, the path only goes left or right. Turn briefly left and immediately right again. Now follow the path until you reach the main street in Schköna. Turn right there and at Bitterfelderstraße turn left (in a right curve of the main street). Follow the road out of the village for about 2 km until the signpost Jösigk / Gröbern. At this point, turn right into the forest, cross the concrete road and then diagonally left. From now on, always straight ahead, cross Fuhrmannsweg, cross Jösigweg until you reach the entrance of Gröbern. After the welcome sign, slightly to the left, follow the road to B100. (The boulder park is on the right about 600 m away). Cross B100 diagonally left and continue straight into the forest. At a small double intersection, on the left is a fenced-off reserve, at the 2nd intersection turn right (White signposts high up in the tree), again follow the path until shortly before Burgkemnitz. Upon reaching the white signpost column, turn right to the Health Spring and follow the path to the street. Turn left there, then right after a hundred meters and follow the road to Burgkemnitz station, the destination of the hike where there is also a rest area.
