During the winter months between November and March, the hiking trail through the Bodetal Gorge is regularly closed for safety reasons. During this time, the detour leads from Treseburg over the ridge south of the Bodetal and the Hexentanzplatz to Thale.
The detour is not marked with the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg symbol. In the center of Treseburg, follow the Harzklub-Weg 32C (red dot) over the Weißen Hirsch and the so-called Pfeildenkmal to the Hexentanzplatz. Here you can enjoy the impressive view into the Bodetal Gorge and towards the opposite Rosstrappe. From the Hexentanzplatz, follow the blue dot down to Thale.
