Altmark circular route: From Tangerhütte to the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen

A cheerful and varied stage of the Altmarkrundkurs, which takes us from Tangerhütte first in the lowlands of the Uchte, later through heath and undulating landscape to the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen.

Description

A beautiful stage that can also be cycled from train station to train station as a day tour: First through the lush lowlands of the Uchte with the small villages with their mighty, partly Romanesque village churches, later through the gently undulating forest areas and fields to Koster Neuendorf.After visiting the monastery complex, we roll the last kilometers to the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen.The tour is a typical stage of the Altmarkrundkurs: Nature and culture alternate, overall only a few inclines allow for comfortable cycling on well-marked paths.

Route description

From Tangerhütte we follow the signs of the Altmarkrundkurs towards Lüderitz.In Lüderitz we leave the main street and head south over the swimming pool and small paths towards Schleuss and Brunkau.Via Volleschier we reach Uchtspringe with the large hospital complex. Near the train station, we use the bridge over the railway line and cross the B 188.Through the forest, we head towards Trüstedt and further towards Kloster Neuendorf.From here, crossing the B188, we reach the feeder road to the Hanseatic city of Gardelegen at Zierau.
