Description

The Zehrsack, Zehnt and Onion Harvest bike route offers a cycling experience through the blooming nature. Mentally, one immerses oneself in the world of the Middle Ages at present-day sights and reads interesting contributions about Zehrsack, Zehnt and Onion Harvest. Over 43 km, you learn at 9 stations about the life, customs and inventions of people hundreds of years ago. Route description

We start at the market. We pass the ruins of St. Nicolai Church, heading towards Schleibank. There we turn left onto Salzstraße until we reach Wegeberg. Continuing straight ahead, we reach the district of Ankuhn. We turn left into Marktstraße and follow it to the intersection Ankuhner Markt. Here we turn right and immediately left onto a side path. Here is the second station of our bike route.

We now ride back to the main street and turn left towards the outskirts. Following the country road, along forests and fields, we reach the next village: Strinum. Here we turn right at the church onto Dorfplatz street and follow the path until we discover a huge tree with beautiful seating.

Next, we turn right at the church onto the main street and ride to the next village: Zernitz. Here we follow the signs of the Vorfläming bike route. This leads us left through the village following the main street. Just before Kuhberge, there is a bridge. Before it, we turn left and continue following the signs of the Vorfläming bike route until we leave the main street in Lindau at the gas station and see the signs for Lindau Castle. Here we turn left onto Markt street and ride to the castle.

Afterwards, we continue. We pass the castle on the right side and ride through the gate in the wall. We then follow the wide path to Ortsstraße, Grüne Straße, where we turn right. We follow the main street until it turns left onto Buhlendorfer Straße, riding to the next village, Buhlendorf.

Now we continue cycling southwards. We cross the federal highway and follow the village street. At the big right turn, we leave the street and take the straight path. We ride along the asphalt road until the next intersection. Here we turn right and enjoy the ride until we reach the main street to Güterglück, where we turn right and pass through the barriers into the village. At the intersection, we see a pond on the left side, where we can take a break.

After the break, we get back on the bike. We follow the main street past the train station towards Schora/Gehrden. Before the tracks, we leave it and take the paved path parallel to the railway tracks. Following the path, we ride between meadows and fields to the next village, Flötz. At the intersection, we turn left and cycle towards Walternienburg. At the church, the Arche, we turn right onto the main street and ride towards the outskirts. Shortly after the Nuthe Bridge, we turn left onto the path and ride to the Water Castle.

After a short rest, we continue the bike tour on the Fläming Cycle Path towards Nutha. Here the route takes us on the main street through the village of Walternienburg. The church Arche is on the left. We continue straight ahead until we can turn right onto Friedensstraße on the right side. We follow the street to the outskirts and continue straight ahead. After some time, we leave the street and follow a concrete path to Nutha-Siedlung. We continue straight ahead on an agricultural path until we reach the intersection and turn right towards Nutha. Shortly after entering the village, we turn right and ride to the church.

After the longer break, we continue on the return journey. At the intersection, we turn right and follow the street until we reach the next intersection. Here we turn left towards Niederlepte. In good weather, a detour to the Bible maps at the church is worthwhile. The tour continues straight ahead until we leave Niederlepte and reach the main street. Here we turn left onto the state road and ride carefully to Zerbst/Anhalt. After the meat factory on the right side, we turn left onto Gartenstraße and follow it past the castle garden to Breite-Straßen-Tor.

In Zerbst/Anhalt there are various parking lots, at the train station and in the city center.

Safety instructions

The tour mainly goes through mixed traffic and on agricultural paths, so caution is advised. In Schora, the federal highway B184 is crossed.
