Like a green ribbon, the Fuhneaue runs through the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld. The Fuhneradweg offers a diverse flora and fauna: floodplain forests, marshes, and ponds are integrated into various nature reserves and the landscape conservation area Fuhneaue.

Description

The tour starts in Bitterfeld and leads north to Wolfen. Here you embark on the official Fuhneradweg. The Fuhne flows into the Mulde in Jeßnitz. Therefore, you can also start the bike tour in Jenßnitz.

In Wolfen, you should not miss the opportunity to visit the Industrial and Film Museum with its fascinating exhibition on the development and production of photo and film.

Along the idyllic Fuhnelauf, the cycle path continues to the town of Zörbig. Here you can explore the traces of the Wettin princes. Over 1000 years ago, the castle with the tower built in the 13th century was owned by the Wettins and was to be maintained in such a way that the sovereign could take up residence here. After several modifications, the baroque building now houses, among other things, the local museum of Zörbig.

From here, the tour leads east again towards Bitterfeld via Sandersdorf. At the opencast mines in Sandersdorf, there are several lakeside beaches that invite you to swim.
