Hohentengen on the High Rhine: popular circular hiking trail

The circular vineyard trail leads from the town hall in the center of the community of Hohentengen along easy paths to the vines of Germany's southernmost vineyard, the Engelhof. The geometry of the vineyard with fantastic views of the Rhine and the medieval Swiss town of Kaiserstuhl delights hikers and wine lovers alike. The trail also leads to a private fallow deer enclosure and the picturesque Rötteln Castle on the banks of the Rhine. You can enjoy the wines of the Engelhof during a stop at the Hohentengener Gastronomie. It is possible to stop off at the outdoor pool kiosk during bathing hours. The relatively short route, with the fallow deer enclosure and refreshment stops, also make the Rebenrundweg attractive for families with children.
