The short yet slightly challenging cycle tour through the Zabergäu can be started anywhere along the route. The Lauffen am Neckar train station or the parking lot at Hagdohl are suitable starting points. A detour over the old Neckar bridge to the historic old town of Lauffen is highly recommended. Idyllically situated on an island in the middle of the Neckar, Lauffen's town hall castle with its castle museum invites you to visit the eleventh century. An encounter with Lauffen's most famous son, Friedrich Hölderlin, is also delightful. The Hölderlin House and the Hölderlin artwork in the traffic circle are located directly on the cycle route.

The tour starts on the Neckar Valley cycle path in Lauffen and leads to Heilbronn-Klingenberg. There you cross the river at the "Neckarschlinge" nature reserve and follow the Württemberger Weinradweg for a good stretch. The route continues through the Waldensian village of Nordhausen to Dürrenzimmern, a suburb of the town of Brackenheim. From there, the route follows the Neipperger Bächle stream to Hausen, where a visit to the Jupiter Giant Column is a must for history buffs.

Follow the district road to the end of the village and then change to the parallel cycle path to Lauffen. Cycle along the Zaber and past impressive steep slopes with gnarled old vines back to Lauffen, where you will be greeted by the artwork "Hölderlin at the traffic circle".</p
