The Idyllic Road lives up to its name. Away from the crowded everyday paths, the trail winds its way through a largely tranquil landscape, through dreamy forests and meadow valleys, past clear streams and bathing lakes.

Here a seemingly enchanted gorge, there a real waterfall. No wonder the ancient Romans settled in this area. Old forts and towers tell their story. Lookout towers and hilltops offer sweeping views over the hilly forests.In between, there are always pretty villages and small towns as well as castles and palaces with numerous historical sights. The Idyllic Road is not just for nature lovers, but also for those with an appreciation of historical and architectural treasures.

The cycle route leads along wide gravel paths and roads with little traffic in the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park. The complete cycle route takes you from the valley to the heights of the Swabian Forest three times.
