Teuringertal-Bahnweg

This circular walk is steeped in history and leads along the route of a
former railroad line through a diverse landscape and
through the Rotach river valley. The starting and ending point is the high
situated Berger church with its magnificent panorama.

At the very beginning, the square in front of the Berger church offers an impressive perspective over the entire city area, Lake Constance and the Alps. With the Säntis in view, the trail descends southwards to the former route of the Teuringertal railroad and turns right along it, always heading north.

The path leads through a landscape that is reminiscent of an English garden in places. The open field paths eventually lead to an inconspicuous path in the forest, which leads through dense greenery in a wild and romantic way. From Unterteuringen, the route leads through the Rotachtal valley - along the river on narrow paths, past preserved and half-ruined mills - towards Weilermühle. The recreational area there not only has a playground and barbecue area, but also a BUND orchard with many old fruit varieties to (re)discover. Over narrow roads, field paths, through sections of forest, past the timber yard, up to a hilltop with another viewpoint, the route leads back to Berg.
