The beautiful view from the renovated Ratzenried castle ruins invites you to pause and the healing lime tree offers protection from illness.
The village square is characterized by the Georgsbrunnen fountain with the coats of arms of the lords who have shaped the village's history. From the village pond, we head into the forest in the direction of Artisberg. We reach a clearing and follow the signs to the right. The path continues to Weihers and we make a detour to the Kögelegg viewpoint. We walk via Zimmerberg along a field path to Sechshöf. Shortly afterwards, we reach the Oberer Schloßweiher until we reach the ruins of Ratzenried Castle. The ruins of what was once the largest servants' castle in the Allgäu are enthroned here. The beautiful view from the renovated castle ruins invites you to pause for a moment. We reach the Healing Lime Tree. The tree was once the court lime tree of Bruggen. According to legend, anyone who squeezed through the lime tree could get rid of illnesses. We try it for ourselves - faith works wonders! Back in the village center, we visit the courtroom in the Ochsen. The history of the house is documented here.
