Description by the author

This tour is dedicated to Germany's great satirist and philosopher. It leads across the so-called "Hohenlohe Plain" and through the unknown Salltal valley and presents a land of contrasts. On the one hand, it shows the economic strength of Hohenlohe and on the other, it provides evidence of a landscape characterized by agriculture.

The cycle tour takes you to a very special geological wonder of nature. If you cross the Kupfertal valley and then cycle along the Sall valley, you will become part of a very distinctive water system in the region: Kupfer, Sall, Hirschbach, Epbach, Ohrn and Brettach all flow in parallel in a north-westerly direction towards the Kocher. Such a constellation is rarely found in this clarity. The municipality of Kupferzell consists of a total of 21 districts and hamlets. The name Kupferzell most likely comes from the "cell" of a monk who lived by the "Kupfer" stream around the year 1000. Until 1884, the preserved small country castle was the residence of the Prince of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg-Schillingsfürst; today it is the Academy for Agriculture and Home Economics.

Born in 1767 in Langenburg in Hohenlohe, Carl Julius Weber was a scholar well versed in many fields of knowledge during his lifetime. He was even a member of the state parliament in 1820/21 and 1823/24. In 1830 he moved to Kupferzell, where he died in 1832. Weber's best-known works include sensitive travel descriptions such as his multi-volume work "Briefe eines in Deutschland reisenden Deutschen" and "Der Demokrit", which also made him world-famous. One example of his humor is his desired gravestone inscription: "Here lie my bones, I wish they were yours". At his behest, people should smoke cigars and do somersaults at his grave.

In Künzelsau-Gaisbach you will find the well-known and internationally renowned Museum Würth and the Museum Würth 2 in the Carmen Würth Forum. It contains two different areas that inspire visitors. The Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Screws and Threads. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
