Fürsten-Tour - Erholungsfahrt durch fürstliches Land, Neuenstein

In the High Middle Ages, the Hohenlohe dynasty emerged from the darkness of the past into the light of history. It originated from the Taubergrund and was named after the castle in the "Hohwald", "Hohenloh(e)". Konrad von Weikersheim, who became known around 1153, is regarded as the ancestor. Numerous castles and palaces belonging to the Hohenlohe family in the surrounding area are well worth a visit.

The town of Neuenstein has a great past. Neuenstein received its charter in 1351. Today, the town is a place with a long tradition. Located at the foot of the Waldenburg Mountains, Neuenstein is known far and wide for its unique castle, which is well worth seeing.The former moated castle of Neuenstein is home to the Hohenlohe Museum, which is one of the most popular attractions in the Hohenlohe region. Highly interesting exhibits can be marveled at. It houses a cabinet of art and rarities, a collection of weapons, sacred art objects and a completely intact kitchen from the Middle Ages. The Knights' Hall with its 41-metre-long, cantilevered ceiling traditionally hosts the opening concert of the "Hohenloher Kultursommer" event series, which is known far beyond the borders of Hohenlohe.
