Großer Trauben: Ausgangspunkt Ulzhausen

On this tour, you will experience numerous highlights of the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried: you will cross the largest protected forest in Baden-Württemberg, pass four viewing platforms and the 38.8 m high protected forest tower and can observe the cattle on the extensive grazing areas. Along the way, you will walk around the already renaturalized "Großer Trauben" raised bog.

Once around the Großer Trauben - the largest intact raised bog in the Ried. This circular hiking trail leads through and along renaturalized moor areas and through the Bannwald forest. Here at Tiefenbach or Fünfeckweiher, in the Schnödenwiesen or on the edge of the Großer Trauben, nature will develop in a variety of ways over the next few years. After just a short time, many rare birds and plants have reestablished themselves - this gives us hope for the future and inspires ornithologists and botanists alike. Large grazing units with Scottish Highlands and Galloways maintain the open land.
