Höchstenweg - Radtour

Nice and entertaining circular cycle tour, the ascent of which is rewarded with a great view from the highest peak.

The tour starts and ends at the Reute hiking parking lot, which is located close to Illmensee. There is quite a climb on the way to the highest point, but it is more than worth it once you reach the top. From the viewing pavilion, you have a wonderful view of Lake Constance and the Alps on a clear day. Right next door is the Swabian-Alemannic dialect trail and Promipfad. Original expressions and idioms of the regional dialect are listed with translations on a total of 10 boards. There are also around 50 pairs of original footprints of celebrities along the trail. The adjacent Berggasthof Höchsten is a wonderful place to take a break and enjoy the view. Via Lichtenegg and Krumbach, you return to the starting point - the Reute hiking parking lot. Once there, it's worth making a detour to Illmensee to cool off in the lake of the same name or enjoy a refreshment break in one of the restaurants.
