The cycle tour characterizes the Hohenlohe landscape: on the one hand, wooded mountains with fantastic distant views as a reward for the climb and, on the other hand, the plain, which appeals to the senses with fragrant meadows, fields and fruit trees.

The state-approved climatic health resort Waldenburg, also known as the "balcony of Hohenlohe" (505 m above sea level), is situated on a relatively narrow mountain spur high above the Hohenlohe plain. From the historic old town, there are wonderful views of the Hohenlohe plain and the Waldenburg mountains on both sides. The town was first mentioned in a document in 1253. In 1533, it became the independent residence of the future princes of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg. The town was almost completely destroyed in the last days of the war in 1945, but the reconstruction was exemplary.A particularly beautiful view of the historic old town can be enjoyed from the Lachnersturm after climbing 100 steps. The highest vantage point in the Hohenlohe district is open from March to October from 9 a.m. until dusk and offers views across to the Frankenhöhe in Bavaria and the Katzenbuckel in the Odenwald. The familiar silhouette of the castle and the townscape greet visitors from afar. The castle is owned by the Prince of Hohenlohe-Waldenburg and is home to an interesting baroque castle church.
