From the village center in Eberschütz, the trail first leads through calcareous grasslands and juniper heaths up to the Eberschütz cliffs. They consist of shell limestone that was formed around 240 million years ago. The light-coloured shell limestone, which is very different from other rocks, is particularly easy to recognize on the cliffs. From there, you also have a magnificent view of the Diemel and the village of Eberschütz. You walk along the cliffs and then further up through a beautiful beech forest before returning to Eberschütz through the rough grassland.
