Bad Orber Aussicht

Cultural and historical sites in the districts of Bad Orb and Biebergemünd accompany this tour. The route includes the "Graueruh" chapel, the reconstructed Celtic settlement "Alteburg", the "Jägerkreuz" and the "Wartturm" tower in Bad Orb with its historical past. Apart from a short trail on the descent to the "Graueruh" chapel and down from the "Pfarrküppel" (highest point of the route), you cycle mainly on asphalt and paved forest paths. After a short roll-in on the cycle path towards Kinzigtal, you leave it at "Hof Löwelsberg". The summit of the Sommerberg is reached via a moderate ascent through a sparse oak forest. A firm forest path in Friedrichstal with a flat incline leads on to the "Grauruhe" chapel. This is reached via a short trail and gravel path. The tour continues past the Hirschbach ponds and the Kassel oak tree to the "Alteburg" (accessible via a variant). This is a settlement from the Celtic period, reconstructed in places. From here, the route continues past the Kassel water chambers and the Jägerskreuz to the "Bieberer Hütte". The tour continues along a washed-out forest path and the trail on the Bocksberg to the Molkenberg. From here you have a great view of Bad Orb, the surrounding Spessart mountains and the Vogelsberg. After a short, somewhat rough section of the trail, it is a leisurely descent to Bad Orb.
