Regionalpark Limesroute

The almost 50-kilometre-long Regional Park Limes Route runs along the Limes, which has been made visible again, between the two Limes information centers in Großkrotzenburg and Echzell, where visitors can follow in the footsteps of the Romans. ";mso-bidi-font-family: "times="" roman";mso-fareast-language:="" de"="">In the old town of Großkrotzenburg, the remains of the Roman fort can be visited, the most impressive testimony along the Limes cycle path in the Spessart, but the Limes is also clearly visible at the traffic circle in Erlensee.

This moderate half-day stage offers cyclists the opportunity to experience the enormous dimensions of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in a new way. Whitewashed trees in the forest, white four-metre-high steles and newly planted columnar oaks trace the course of the Limes in the landscape and make it visible as a far-reaching line. Away from the Limes, "Limes windows" provide a view of the former route.
