Neckarweg | Etappe Neckarsulm - Heilbronn

From the car town of Neckarsulm through sunny vineyards to Heilbronn - including beautiful viewpoints on Heilbronn's local mountain.

First, the Neckar Trail runs largely flat along the Sulm towards the vineyards. There are several wine taverns along the way.

Followed by a short section through an industrial estate, the trail then rewards hikers with an ascent through sunny vineyards up to the Heilbronn Wartberg.

On reaching the top, the accessible Wartberg tower offers the opportunity to extend the view a little. In the warmer months, the wine bar is open on Saturdays and Sundays and invites you to take a break and enjoy the views before descending past the botanical orchard to the wine town of Heilbronn.

S-Bahn hike & shortcuts

From Neckarsulm train station, it is about 900 m to the start of the tour in the Sulmpark area.

In Heilbronn, the Neckarweg leads directly along the train station.

Tip for a shortcut or a family excursion:
Shorten the walking route from 10 to 5 km with the Heilbronn hop-on hop-off bus - a chic double-decker convertible bus - from Wartberg to Heilbronn city center or vice versa.
