Dolmen cycle path

Short description

The Dolmen Cycle Path connects the Himmelsscheiben Cycle Path in Querfurt with the Saale Cycle Path near Goseck.

Description

The cycle path is approximately 52 km long. It starts in Querfurt, passes by Querfurt Castle to the Dolmen Goddesss grave and the Eichstädter Warte tower.
Then it continues to the Geiseltalsee. Through Braunsbedra, Schortau, Lunstädt, Pettstädt, Markröhlitz, you cycle to Goseck, where the Sun Observatory and Goseck Castle are located.
Passing by Goseck Castle, the cycle path leads through Lobitzsch to the ferry bridge to Leißling. The Dolmen Cycle Path ends here.
To reach the Saale Cycle Path or the Unstrut Cycle Path near Naumburg/Freyburg, it is recommended to continue after the detour to Goseck via Dobichau and Großjena to the Unstrut and then to the Saale.
The Dolmen Cycle Path has a connection to the Himmelsscheiben Cycle Path from Querfurt, a connection to the Goethe Cycle Path from Mücheln, and a connection to the Saale-Unstrut-Elster Radacht from Goseck, and thus also to the Saale and Unstrut Cycle Routes.
Attention: From Goseck Castle, the steep Mühlenweg leads into the Saaletal valley, with a gradient of 20%.

Attention: From Goseck Castle, the steep Mühlenweg leads into the Saaletal valley, with a gradient of 20%.
