The wine route along the White Elster River invites you to start and finish cycling every year.

Description

Along the 17 km long adventure route through the valley of the White Elster, there is the opportunity for traditional starting and finishing cycling, as well as the chance to convince yourself of the quality of local wines through wine tastings and vineyard tours. The wine route leads from Kloster Posa Zeitz via Haynsburg, Wetterzeube, and Schleckweda to Trebnitz. The wine estates and wineries cordially invite you. A goat farm also offers regional specialties.

Every year on May 1st, the starting cycling of the wine route takes place, and on October 3rd of each year, the season ends with the finishing cycling. On these two days, a stop should be made at each station.

Safety instructions

There is no guided tour, everyone can ride individually. The starting point is always Kloster Posa. Cyclists coming from Kloster Posa are escorted by the police through the city of Zeitz. In the area of the Droyßiger-Zeitzer Forst administrative community and the Heideland-Elstertal-Schkölen administrative community, you partly ride on roads and partly on bike paths. The German Road Traffic Regulations apply.
