Albsteig Schwarzwald Etappe 4 Tour Ost: St. Blasien - Menzenschwand Genießer

This stage leads through the valley floor of the Menzenschwander Alb. Idyllic areas of the Alb alternate with flowering meadows and magnificent views over the Menzenschwandertal valley.

From St. Blasien, the Albsteig trail leads north above the town. Shortly afterwards, the path loses altitude and you reach the country road, which you have to cross (watch out for fast cars). Follow the wide forest path close to the Alb to Glashofsäge. Shortly before the Glashofsäge, the path becomes really narrow and rustic again. At the sawmill, both the Alb and the Albsteig split into two arms. This stage follows the eastern Menzenschwander Alb. It first crosses the sawmill and then leads along good forest paths past a small reservoir to the Hubertusplatz. The barbecue area there is ideal for a first rest. From there, the route continues via a short detour to Holzmättle to an idyllic biotope south of the tennis courts. Small ponds and a pavilion invite you to linger. At this point, the Albsteig trail turns east and leads to Menzenschwand-Vorderdorf with beautiful views of the valley, where today's destination is reached.
