On this route, pilgrims can hike around the Steinhuder Meer starting from the Loccum Monastery. The trail leads through Mardorf (north bank) to the Mariensee Monastery and back to Loccum via Steinhude (south bank). Through visitations in the 15th and 16th centuries, the two monasteries are connected. The landscape on both sides of the trail is characterized by meadows and moorland, as well as by Northwest Germanys largest inland lake, with the Rehburger Berge mountains offering a magnificent view.Safety information:Throughout the entire tour, it is advised that the paths are walked at ones own risk: no guarantee is given for the usability of the paths.
