From the Central Theater to Hücker Moor

The starting point of the nature tour through the north of Spenge is the Central Theater in the city center. Past St. Martinus Church and a glacial erratic, the path leads after a few kilometers to the picturesque windmill in Hücker Aschen. Panoramic views over the Ravensberg Hills follow, before reaching the Hücker Moor, the only larger lake far and wide. Cafés on the lakeshore invite you to stop for a break, while the water, marsh, forest, and meadow areas offer opportunities to observe rare plant and animal species. Continuing through Klein-Aschen, you reach the border stream Warmenau. Coming through a sunken lane, you reach a location with beautiful old pollarded willows along the Eselsbach. The route back to Spenge leads over grassy paths past old farmsteads with mighty oaks.
