The namesake Niesebach meanders from its source at Köterberg to Emmer, where it flows into it. At Kollerbeck, the stream is particularly idyllic framed by two mountains. Further downstream, the landscape changes into a wide and hilly scenery.
Equally diverse is the approximately 25 km long circular hiking trail. Mainly along narrow meadow paths and forest trails, the trail connects the Marienmünster Abbey and the picturesque town of Schwalenberg. Several times during the hike, you cross the Niese and its smaller and larger tributaries.
Hedgerow-framed pastures, small-scale agriculture, beautiful paths through changing forest landscapes make the slightly longer hike a pleasure tour for the soul.
Near Kollerbeck and Born, there are tranquil rest areas for a hearty regional picnic.
