Barrier-free hiking trail III

This paved hiking trail, also suitable for wheelchair users, starts at the hiking car park near the village of Altehufe. From here, the trail leads in a westerly direction along the ridge between Voiswinkel and Eikamp. In the Middle Ages, this very trail was part of an important military road that connected Cologne to Wipperfürth. Along its edges, you can often see traces of walls and ditches, which are the remains of roadblocks where tolls were collected. The wheelchair-accessible route ends at the small hamlet of Oberborsbach with its beautiful half-timbered houses. For those who still want to enjoy a magnificent view of the Rhine Valley and don't mind a few smaller climbs, they can continue walking to the Sonnenberg hiking car park. Since the path from here to Voiswinkel has a very steep incline, wheelchair users should start their return journey from here at the latest.
