The tour leads uphill - at the Lower Rhine rather the exception - to the Palatine settlement of Neulouisendorf, which lies on a glacially formed ridge. The planned layout of this place, its settlement structure, can be easily read during the hike from the perfectly straight road layout. The small Evangelical church of Neulouisendorf can be visited from the outside. The path continues to the Monreberg, where once stood Monterberg Castle, the seat of the Counts and Dukes of Cleves. The place is now popularly known as "the end of the world" because the ridge steeply drops off at this point. Through a forest area, it goes downhill again via the Serpentinen snake path and over the tree-lined cycle path, which can also be used by hikers, back to the starting point in Kalkar.
