Kohlbornstein - that is the destination. Incidentally, "Born" stands for spring - how the cabbage comes into play here is probably left to the imagination. In any case, it is a rock and not a mountain. You can recognize the geological origin from this name. Mountains are of volcanic origin and stones were once the seabed; eroded and weathered, the bizarre formations are now a symbol of Saxon Switzerland.
Long story short - short ascent. This hike is suitable for young and old. Once at the top, the overwhelming view makes up for the short but sometimes strenuous climb. In addition to Lilienstein, Falkenstein and Schrammsteinen, you can also see the Bohemian neighbors. This makes it one of the most beautiful views in Saxon Switzerland.
After the descent, you reach a pleasantly cool valley with a stream and a former mill, the Liethenmühle. It's half-time here and you can reward yourself with a small selection from the menu in the beer garden. Yes, of course, no beer garden without beer! Slightly exhilarated, the following ascent is not difficult at all. The path leads uphill to a small village with pretty old houses, past a babbling brook.
In Koppelsdorf, we then walk past the farm towards a crossroads, which is already familiar. There you turn back onto the Bornweg and walk back towards the parking lot.
