J8 - Wanderung zur Talsperre Pöhl

The route starts at Jößnitz Castle and leads through the Lohbach gorge to Barthmühle. We cross the Elster and continue our hike in the direction of the bridge. After crossing the railroad tracks, we enter the Trieb valley and are treated to impressive views of the landscape and the forces of nature.
We walk up the course of the Trieb river. Arriving at the Loreley bridge, the mighty Loreley rock towers up and we continue to the Pyramidenwiese. Once at the foot of the dam wall, the steep ascent, partly with steps, to the top of the dam wall begins.
Our hike takes us past the 435-metre-high Eisenberg. We then reach the boat landing stage and the climbing forest. The return route takes us via Lochbauer, an old Vogtland three-sided farm with a 17th century half-timbered house and via the Elster Valley - past the Teufelskanzel - and the Nymphental valley, with a short break at the Pfaffenmühle mill, to Jößnitz.
