Runde am Olbersdorfer See

Olbersdorfer See lake - created from a former open-cast lignite mine, an area of around 130 hectares has been renaturalized here. From May to October 1999, the 2nd Saxon State Garden Show Zittau-Olbersdorf took place here with the theme "Landscape after mining". Many facilities were created for recreation and tourism as part of the reuse of the area. The first tourist facilities were established from 2000 onwards. In addition to a campsite, there is a hotel, a restaurant with a beer garden. Beach snack bar, a beach store with bicycle, boat and beach chair rental as well as a sports and leisure center with indoor tennis courts and bowling alley.
In the recreation area FREIZEIT-OASE Olbersdorfer See there are of course further possibilities to spend your leisure time actively.
