We leave the parking lot around the outdoor pool counterclockwise and reach the marked route of the Way of St. James from Bremen to Osnabrück. Before the Hache bridge, we keep right and follow the path towards Lahausen always parallel to the road "Am Neddernfeld". We reach a gas pump station, underground there is natural gas in deeper layers of sand, and soon reach the Lahauser shooting hall. Across from the parking lot, we find our way through the bushes and reach the old Lahauser swimming pool, now a biotope. There is no public path leading there, access is at your own risk.
Then we continue our way, turning left at the intersection. Once there stood a small cottager's house. Not far away at the end of Hermann-Küsel-Straße, we see another existing cottager's house. We arrive at Lahauser Straße, which we cross and head towards the half-timbered spieker. We take the cycle path along the road towards Jeebel until after the Hache bridge in front of the first farm we turn left.
We follow this path for a while parallel to the Hache, at the beginning it is still easily recognizable, then not very well maintained. In no case should one approach the Hache over the meadows, fences and gates must be respected. Eventually, the path turns towards Sudweyher Straße, but soon a small connecting path leads to the small gray building of the Harzwasserwerke. This is where we reach the Holtwischdamm. On the left is a well of the Harzwasserwerke. We keep the direction, pass a second well area and reach a T-junction. A sign points us to the left over the Hache, and soon we have reached the outdoor pool. The path is mostly unpaved and can be very rough and uneven - so wear sturdy shoes. Next to the two wells and the pump station, we can see on the Sudweyher side of the path after passing the Hache bridge that sand was once extracted here.
In the past, the Hache served with its locks to flood the surrounding land and thus fertilize it. The locks have all been removed, and the Hache is the only river in the district through which fish can pass undisturbed. The Lahauser Spieker was lovingly renovated by an association and now serves, among other things, as a rehearsal space for the Lahauser stage. The two farms near the spieker were shot in fire at the end of World War II. Worse was prevented by the surrender of the surrounding residents. In honor of the teacher Hermann Küsel, who led the surrender, a small street was named after him.
