From the train station of the old Hanseatic city of Brilon, the route leads along the spa park. The spa park offers several water areas with quiet and lounging options and a Kneipp facility, whose water comes from the nearby Möhnequelle, to which this bike route leads.
On the short stretch, you pass the Maria Hilf hospital on the left and reach Brockmannshütte.
The Möhne rises on the southern edge of the extensive Briloner plateau about 2 km south-southeast of the city center of Brilon. The source is located on the eastern slope of the Poppenberg at about 545 m above sea level in the Gewann Helle, the so-called "Little Switzerland".
The last (approx. 300) meters cannot be cycled and must be walked on foot.
