Tour of Kalkar's city walls

The city of Kalkar can be discovered in various ways.
The classic tour in the historic city center leads through the old streets, alleys, and back alleys, passing by most of the sights. Short detours from the given route offer exciting insights into gardens and courtyards of medieval buildings.
A walk in the green, over the old city walls, allows for a completely different perspective: the view from the outside of the city. The path always runs along the water. The city silhouette becomes visible, many sights are within sight and accessible via bridges.
The rivers Ley, Kalflak, and the city moat already surrounded the medieval city. The adjacent walls bear the names of the shooting fraternities, whose task was to monitor the respective wall section: Jabobuswall, Antoniuswall, Georgswall, Sebastianswall.
