Starting from the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park, a former ironworks and unique monument of industrial culture, the circuit leads along the Emscher Park cycle path through the old Emscher district of Beeck and Beeckerwerth to the Rhine. Along the famous RhineCyclePath, it continues upstream on the Rhine embankment to the port district of Ruhrort. The further course is entirely dedicated to water. After a detour to the landmark "Rheinorange" at the confluence of the Ruhr and the Rhine, the circuit leads back to the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park via the Ruhrtal cycle path and the Rhine-Herne Canal.
