Cycle path Sieg - Stage 3: Eitorf to Windeck-Rosbach

Note: Due to water development measures in Windeck-Stromberg, there may be temporary disruptions on the Sieg cycle path until the end of July.
From Eitorf it is not far to Stromberg. Here it is worth unpacking your swimming trunks, as several places in front of the railway bridge invite you to take a swim, and you can officially launch a canoe here as well. Continue your bike ride to Herchen. Just before the train station is the Waldhaus Herchen on a hill above the Sieg loop. Families are warmly welcome here as overnight guests. In the Kurparkcafe of the state-approved recreational area, delicious cakes tempt you, and it also houses a hostel. Children can pedal boat and play mini-golf in the immediate vicinity.
On the way towards Windeck, you pass by the small village of Hoppengarten. Immediately between Hoppengarten and Rossel on the state road 333, there is a small bathing area that is popular with families. From there, it is not far to Dattenfeld. Here, a little detour to the Dattenfeld amusement park is worthwhile, with a beautiful natural children's playground to let off steam. Another opportunity for swimming near a rapid is located on a bend in the Sieg River in Dreisel along the route.
Next, you will reach Schladern again with strong pedaling. Here, there is a waterfall that has a drop of 4 meters over several levels and is 84 meters wide in total. Directly at the waterfall is a beer garden located on the former site of the Elmores copper works.
At the end of this last stage, you can hop on the train, or you can stay at the Windeck-Rosbach youth hostel. It is surrounded by the largest contiguous forest area in the region and is a perfect place for nature lovers and young forest explorers to linger. If you want to ride a bit further, then the Panarbora youth hostel in Waldbröl will certainly have a bed available for you, and you can even climb a treetop path there. You can reach the hostel from Schaldern at junction 25 via the Panarbora cycle path, which, however, has numerous inclines.
