The idea of extensive forests, shelter belts, and woodlands is associated with the Sauerland. But what about the "treasure" of the region? Hiking theme boards present easily understandable facts about trees and bark, sparking interest in the preservation of this important natural and cultural asset. Tailored to the target audience, a variety of media are used: from text and images on display boards to video documentaries accessible via QR code.
The starting point of the 7.9 km long circuit is just a few meters away from the farmhouse "Wippekühl". It was built around 1600 and is now a protected monument. Inside, it houses a museum with vivid exhibits on rural life in earlier times. Worth seeing: the agricultural tools in the outdoor area, the "Haferkasten" (a grain storage), and the impressive oak tree.
The themed path leads on forest and woodland paths as well as trails over the Worthberg to Halverscheid and back.
Special features along the way: in addition to the information boards with exciting facts and sometimes QR codes for additional videos or audio tracks, you can also discover a treasure chest of experiences and a panoramic picture frame along the way.
