H3 Circular hiking trail "Hengsteysee and Teufelskanzel"

This Lassoweg is marked with the symbol H3. An ideal starting point is south of the Mühlencenter in Herdecke an der Ruhr. 200 meters away is the bus stop Hengsteyseestraße, where all Herdecke bus lines converge, and Herdecke station is also just one kilometer away.
The access path to the actual circular path leads on a relatively flat stretch along the Ruhr towards Hengsteysee. After about 1.5 kilometers, you reach the southern end of the lake, the "Schiffswinkel".
Here the access path of the Lassoweg ends, and you can decide whether to continue walking along the flat lakeshore to the Koepchenwerk and then dare to climb the ascent to the "Kleff" (=steep mountain or cliff) or climb directly the steep slopes of the "Sonnenstein" to the "Teufelskanzel". The paths to the "Teufelskanzel" are partly somewhat confusing, so you should pay special attention to the route guidance here.
Both routes meet again at the "Wittbräucker Straße", to lead in a loop of nearly two kilometers through the residential area on the "Unterer Ahlenberg".
