Seven Mountains - Servatiushof

We park at the hiking car park at Servatiushof and hike up the chestnut avenue to the forestry house and the chapel, and head towards Himmerich. After a short distance, we leave behind the access road coming from Rhineland-Palatinate and turn north only at the "Three Oaks." Unfortunately, a paved road leads us down into the Smelting Valley, but the path with the chestnut trees and the small stream is bathed in light and puts us in the mood for hiking. Once we reach the bottom of the valley, we turn off the road onto a forest path before reaching the Ellenbruch hiking car park, which leads us down to the Einsiedlertal hiking car park. Before that, we have to cross the busy L 144 road in the Smelting Valley. From the hiking car park, we ascend through the Einsiedlertal with its tall, bright beech trees to the guardhouse at the Frühmesseiche. Observant hikers can still see remnants of mining in the valley sticking out of the bluish water in the ponds to the left. The guardhouse is located at one of the most important hiking junctions in the Seven Mountains and invites us to take a break. After the guardhouse, we turn south on the access road, walk on the straight forest path to Kohlstraße, and then sharply turn north. After walking about 400 meters on the asphalt road, we turn right at a bench and the turning bridle path onto Höveler Steig. Passing by thick, slightly corked Douglas firs, we reach a steeper descent into the Logebachtal after 200 meters. There, we hike through a picturesque meadow valley, with a shelter called Schneewittchenhütte, back to the car park.
