The 36 km long circular tour starts in Uelzen at the Hundertwasser train station. Walk through the unique art station, stroke the bulging columns, feel the swaying riverbed, find the pig on the platform, and the "forgotten" tools of the craftsmen. Full of impressions of colorful mosaics, golden balls, and trees on the roof, the tour begins. First, you reach Oldenstadt with its historical center and monastery church. Exciting for nature lovers is the NABU-Nest. Here you can walk through the garden grounds with a pond, old trees, flower meadow, herb spiral, insect hotel, bee teaching stand, and breeding pavilion. Leaving Oldenstadt, the path leads past the Oldenstädter See. If you feel like taking a spontaneous dip, jump into the water at the beach. From here, you cycle to the Elbe-Seitenkanal and for quite a while along the waterway towards the north. After a detour left over the canal and back again, you reach the Jastorfer See. From the observation tower, you can watch waterfowl – best with binoculars. A theme panel provides information about the lake and waterfowl. Through Jastorf and a detour to the left over the canal, you reach Klein Bünstorf. From here, a detour to the Klein Bünstorfer Heide is worthwhile. In late summer, it blooms beautifully in purple, and one of the largest hillside grave fields in the Lüneburg Heath with 59 preserved graves is interesting all year round. For a break with regional delicacies, the Obstscheune in Tätendorf-Eppensen is recommended, where the route passes by. Enjoy cake and pastries or fresh juices with fruit from your own harvest. Not far behind Tätendorf is Barum with the St. Georg Church from the 11th/12th century. It is open daily from Easter to Harvest Festival from 9 am to 6 pm. In Barum, the Biolandhof Ellenberg offers old potato varieties such as Blue Anneliese, Heiderot, or Blue Swede in the farm shop. They taste delicious and make funny colorful potato salads! Halfway between Barum and Westerweyhe, the nature reserve "Im Sieken und Bruch" extends to the left. The "Sieken" is a forested area on an end moraine, crossed by small streams, and characterized by beeches and oaks. Then the tour leads through Westerweyhe directly into the Uelzen city forest. After a short time, it opens up again, and you ride into the city. From here, it is only a few minutes by bike back to the Hundertwasser train station.
