The cozy hike starts just behind the thermal brine bath. Here, numerous hiking trails start, which initially share a main path. Hiking trail No. 4 passes by the upper shelter hut, which is available for a rest. Shortly afterwards, it turns off to the right from the main path. Distinctive furrows to the right and later to the left of the path indicate an old stream bed. At Weidenspring, continue to the right on a wide path, the former highway from Liebenburg to Gitter (Gitterweg). Those who have previously looked at the exact location on the map can view the remnants of the old border castle to the left of the path. When the forest path turns into a field path, you can then reach the thermal brine bath again to the right via a side path. Just before that, the Plünneckenbrunnen invites you to refresh yourself at a Kneipp wading pool.
