Monastery Garden Route

On the tour embedded in the NRW cycle path network, you will experience our diverse region between the Weser, Egge, and Teutoburg Forest. A rich monastic heritage that has been shaped over the centuries by monks and nuns. We recommend taking the tour as "EIGHT" to discover all the small and large paradises along the wayside as well as the monasteries and monastic facilities. Start your journey at the visitor center FORUM Abtei in Marienmünster and head towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site Corvey. At the mouth of the Nethem, the path leads towards Brakel. Traveling south, you will discover many remarkable gardens and monasteries. In the Warburg area, the tour heads east, passing the Desenberg, a former volcano, to the Herstelle Abbey. The journey then continues along the Weser until the mouth of the Nethem and back west to Bad Driburg. To return to the starting or ending point, follow the bike signage to the north/northeast.
