Railway line Sülztalbahn

Where once the railway used to run, today one can enjoy the magnificent cultural landscape of the municipality of Lindlar on a cycling or hiking tour. The route on the former railway line impresses with its pleasant gradient ratio. Many historical objects along the cycling and walking path are popular photo motifs, such as the four-arched valley bridge (a viaduct) in Bruch, the former train stations, the idyllic mill pond in Siebensiefen, wayside crosses, and 100-year-old bridges. A special charm lies in perceiving typical railway relics, moss-covered mile markers, and railway sleepers. The highlight is a heavy steam locomotive parked at Linde station.

Information boards recounting the history of the railway era already cover a distance of 12 kilometers. Apart from worthwhile side trips, for example to visit the Merlenbach fish farm, the Bergisches Freilichtmuseum Lindlar, or a bee house in Welzen, the cycling and walking path "Sülztalbahn" is embedded in a dense network of hiking trails, allowing for varied routes to be combined with this tour.

The variety of gastronomy extends beyond the town center of Lindlar to Schloss Georghausen, where the Golfhotel also offers a place for rest and refreshment. The tours promise cycling and hiking fun in the midst of nature for families, leisure, and pleasure cyclists. Active and yet relaxed, one experiences the charms of the Bergisches Land.
