Bike tour through the villages - Around Burbach

The tour through the Burbach villages starts at Burbach Town Hall on Eicher Weg. After preparing your bike, you cycle through the harmoniously designed Burbach town center towards Würgendorf. The Protestant Church Burbach, perched on the mighty "Römer", is worth a visit. Through Nassauische Straße and with a short detour through Jägerstraße, you turn left into Gassenweg. On your right, you will see the "Alte Vogtei", where changing exhibitions of regional and international artists can be admired. The "Alte Vogtei" is around 500 years old and one of the most impressive half-timbered buildings in the Siegerland.
Now continue on to Würgendorf. Gently ascending, you follow through the Hellerauen of the route. The soft splashing of the Heller accompanies you along the way. In Würgendorf, a visit to the town center to the fortified church and the Heimhof Theater Burbach is worthwhile. Leaving Würgendorf behind, you cycle through a lush green beech forest to Holzhausen. The half-timbered ensemble around the "Alte Schule" with a natural history room, local heritage room, and the church are worth stopping for a rest. Continue through Holzhausen towards Niederdresselndorf. Here too, it is the historic town center that is worth admiring. The church of Niederdresselndorf also invites you to take a break. Following the signposted cycle path, you reach Oberdresselndorf. Leave the town and enter the open landscape of the Hickengrund. Here, the special natural environment enchants the landscape. Not for nothing, 31 nature reserves and a European bird protection area are designated in Burbach. Hazel grouse and black stork are just some rare species to admire. Before a magnificent view of Liebenscheid opens up, you leave North Rhine-Westphalia. After an ascent, you reach Rhineland-Palatinate. Upon reaching the top, you come across the Rothaarsteig, offering a magnificent view. To your left, you may have noticed the approach lighting of Siegerland Airport. Passing through Liebenscheid, past the small church, you head towards Lippe via the barbecue area. The Siegerland Airport is visible to the right. Here, sightseeing flights and parachute jumps are possible. Back on the bike tour, you cross the B54 and turn towards Lippe, the southernmost village of Westphalia. Past the community center, you embark on a rapid descent through the Buchhellertal. This special spot on Earth still shows relics of the Siegerland mining tradition today. Before leaving the Buchhellertal, enjoy great views while passing through lush green meadows and the Buchheller flowing on the left in the valley, leading back to the starting point at the town hall.
