Hazy days of summer in a rocky world - cycling tour with wecyclebrandenburg

For the tour's conclusion, we definitely want to dive into the wilderness of the National Park and explore the picturesque hinterland with its summer resort villages.At 9 a.m. the National Park Railway takes us from Bad Schandau to the artificial flower town of Sebnitz in just under half an hour. Even today, beautiful silk flowers are still made here by traditional handicraft. In the small manufactory we learn to "flower" under professional guidance and are fascinated by the craftsmanship of the employees, whom we are allowed to look over their shoulders during production.
On a part of the Panorama Trail (the name says it all!) our tour first leads over a high plateau to several idyllic villages. We are particularly enchanted by Hinterhermsdorf with its traditional Umgebinde houses. Awarded the title "Saxony's most beautiful village", the family-friendly village almost has something of a small open-air museum.
From Hinterhermsdorf we finally reach the Saxon Switzerland National Park via the "Waldhusche" leisure and forest adventure area. In contrast to the surrounding protected landscape areas, cycling here is only permitted on the marked cycle paths. This is by no means a disadvantage. We quickly get the feeling that we are on one of the most beautiful and varied routes in the National Park. Especially along the Kirnitzsch, it is wonderfully cool after the heat of the day.
Even though we can expect some steep climbs in places, we are rewarded with new breathtaking views around every corner. Especially the path along the popular Affensteine and Schrammsteine is simply unique!
Dinner at the cosy Schrammsteinbaude at the end of the day is literally the icing on our Szegediner goulash!
