Description by the author

On the Erbach-Michelstadt panoramic trail, you hike on higher forest edge paths with panoramic views over the towns in the valley basin. The trail also briefly leads through shady sections of forest. Both towns show you their romantic side: you pass through both the old towns of Michelstadt and Erbach. Charming half-timbered houses line your path. The famous Gothic town hall of Michelstadt is also on your route, as is the neo-baroque castle of the former royal seat of Erbach.

In the countryside, you can enjoy the Silberbrünnchen, visit the Stockheimer Eiche and the Georgsbuche and rest in the Hermannstempel or the temple on the Sophienhöhe while enjoying the beautiful panoramic view.

Way description:
Our hike begins at the large parking lot on the Bienenmarkt grounds. The first markings are located at the toilet block/pedestrian crossing (parking lot entrance) on Wiesenweg. We follow the EM1 markings on the Wiesenweg and cross the B45. The Hammerweg leads us over the Mümling. From the TÜV site, there are about 100 meters of ascent to overcome. When we reach the top, the sports planes will show us the way in good weather. From the Waldhorn airfield, the trail leads into the forest, where we stop for refreshments at the Silberbrünnchen. Once out of the forest again, we enjoy wonderful panoramic views over Erbach from the Sophienhöhe.

From the Sophienhöhe, we continue towards the Brudergrund wildlife park above the town. Before the path descends, we keep left and head straight downhill towards the historic town center. Behind the town center, we follow the 3-country cycle path along the Mümling to Alexanderbad, where we turn right and head towards the Erdbach seepage behind the German Ivory Museum. We continue along the Erdbach through the village of Erbach. Above the village of Erbach, we cross the B47 and stay on the path at the edge of the forest. To the left of us, our views sweep over Michelstadt again and again.

From Stockheimer Eiche, our hike continues for a short distance through the forest until we finally walk straight back down into Michelstadt's old town from the cemetery. After visiting the Kellereihof and the Gothic town hall, we turn right into the Große Gasse, turn left again and reach our car again through the "Bienenmarkts-Passage".
